Welcome to Smellin’ Somethin’ Good Farms

Hello and Welcome to Smellin’ Somethin’ Good Farm’s very first blog post!

There is so much to say about everything that has been going on with us and our little farm that I hardly know where to begin.

But I assume that a formal introduction might be a good place to start!

I’m Katie and my partner, Max, are the owners of Smellin’ Somethin’ Good Farms.

Both Max and I share in our love and appreciation for the beauty of nature and the outdoors, so you can only imagine how thrilled we are about starting a cut flower farm together. We have been doing our research for several months now on all things cut flowers. I have been studying the art of floral design and floral arranging in hopes to get my retail florist license within the next couple of weeks and Max has been starting seeds, building displays and storage, and continually researching each and every detail that will contribute to making our flowers grow beautifully. Max is one of the hardest working people I know and I feel very lucky to have a business partner that is so dedicated to our cause!

What is our cause you might ask?

Our hope is that through the beauty of flowers we might bring glory to God and His creation and joy to all those around us: including you!

We hope that the next time we see you we are putting a big, beautiful, colorful bundle of flowers into your hands and some happiness into your heart.

We will be selling our Spring flowers starting in April at the Ruston Farmers Market so be on the lookout for us there!

There is much more work that lies ahead for Max and I in the upcoming months. It has been no easy task to balance being a student, an employee, a farmer, and a business owner, but we are so excited to see where Smellin’ Somethin’ Good takes us. We hope that you will follow us on our journey and enjoy all the flowers of our labor!

We look forward to sharing our story with you and getting to know all of you.

Much love!
